Ever since attending college, I have realized that I loved having my own room – for two years, I shared rooms (with two wonderful people, don’t get me wrong) and came to the conclusion that a big part of my day to day is unwinding by myself.
Around junior year I began to put a lot of time and effort into my own room, even as far as painting on my walls (as long as I was able to paint over it before we moved out)! I’ve then began to crave a certain modern flavor, and can now say that I’ve created my dream room at age 24 – or as I’d call it my “babe cave.”
Being 5’10, I naturally require a lot of space because I’m tall, however I’ve realized that having a lot of space is a huge part of me being comfortable – and in NYC, reasonable space for reasonable money is hard to find. Luckily, my roommate and I found a gem in Murray Hill that was a one-bedroom flex, with both rooms having more than enough space. Sometimes, I ask myself, “have I filled my room enough!?”
Most of you have probably come from my Instagram and/or Facebook, where I promised I’d list out where everything was from. See below 🙂 – ps the green links out the store!
- Dreamcatcher: Hazel Boutique (in Belmar, NJ – for my East coast readers!)
- Babe Cave + Banana Leaf Signs: Bloom and Willow Prints
- Wooden Side Table: World Market
- White Bedding: Anthropologie
- Fur Throw: Target
Reach out with any questions. I’ll be taking more ~professional~ pics of my room when my camera is back from the shop.
xoxo,
Hales
